Our Services
Our company, which operates Rinne.bar, is a social business startup dedicated to solving social issues. With the concept of “upcycling/creative reuse” at its core, we aim to breathe new life into materials that would otherwise be discarded, and to create a society where everyone can make use of resources through imagination.
In our activities, we work closely with creators and local communities to promote awareness of sustainable lifestyles. Despite not actively promoting the bar through press releases and other means during the coronavirus pandemic, Rinne.bar, which opened in February 2020 and offers upcycling craft workshops, has garnered attention from the media, with 32 media outlets covering it over the past three years (as of October 2023). Additionally, our workshops and educational programs have been enjoyed by many, with bookings from companies, educational institutions, and the United Nations Development Programme.
We will continue to share the joy of finding new uses for items that would otherwise be discarded, and provide opportunities for resource utilization that bring smiles to everyone. Please come and experience our services.
Training for Companies
The global consensus is growing that the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations, along with ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) investment criteria, are essential for long-term corporate growth. However, many organizations struggle with how to implement these concepts in practice. We address this challenge through our social business initiatives and upcycling experiences, offering opportunities for individuals to shift their perspectives on these critical issues by connecting them to everyday actions.

Service Design
Transforming waste materials into valuable products through design and innovation is a challenging task. The journey begins with researching these materials and developing a prototype that captures people's interest. We provide support throughout this process, helping you explore possibilities, create prototypes, and refine your ideas. Additionally, we facilitate connections with various creators and manufacturers to assist in the development of upcycled products and service design.
As a business committed to realizing a community-based circular economy, our proposed project was adopted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Environmental Public Corporation (Reference PDF/Japanese ).

Event planning and exhibition
We plan events with the motto "resource circulation and a sustainable future is fun." Our team also travels to any location to bring the Rinne.bar experience to you—Japan's first upcycling experience bar, where you can enjoy casual crafting over a beer, wine, or carefully hand-brewed coffee. We provide all the necessary materials, including waste items, tools, and creative ideas, along with a cozy space where you can enjoy delicious drinks at the time and place of your choice.
Training for Schools
Located in the heart of Tokyo’s downtown, where the industries of decorative items and fashion accessories have thrived for generations, we are deeply rooted in the sustainable culture of Edo. We were recognized by the Taito City Tourism Division as a business actively working on the SDGs, and were featured in the SDGs Educational Travel Content Book. Our training program offers participants the chance to experience upcycling using familiar waste materials while also introducing them to local industries. In addition to our “Designing to Discard/Not to Discard” lecture series at Musashino Art University, we have led upcycling and service design projects in collaboration with industry and academia.

Spatial Design and Personnel Development
Our goal is to create environmental awareness events and spatial productions centered on recycling that inspire hope and a connection to the Earth, rather than inducing remorse about the past. By creatively repurposing familiar waste materials, we design spaces that are both fun and inspiring. Understanding that the impact of environmental awareness grows through active participation, we also offer training for facilitators to lead these initiatives effectively.

Upcycled Art
For businesses, it could be prototypes made when they were founded. For homes, it could be furniture that you can't throw away. Why not turn things that hold memories but are difficult to keep as they are into art? Instead of throwing things away, we match them with various creators and artists and help them preserve them as works of art.
